Maria-sama ga Miteru Season 3 OVA -- Characters and Seiyuus

Suddenly, the new OVA series of Marimite is upon us. The first episode was released on DVD this week, with four more to come, at two-month intervals.

The fine voice-acting is so important to this show. Here is a page with pics of ten main characters and photos of their voice actresses. Noto Mamiko's breathy voice is at its best, as Shimako. The wonderful Koshimizu Ami has been added to the cast, playing Kanako. And Ueda Kana and Itou Miki, as Yumi and Sachiko, seem even better than before. Links on the page take you to more info about each seiyuu.

It was great to feel those delicate Marimite feelings again, in the first episode of the new OVA. It showed Yumi spending a week at Sachiko's family's vacation home. This involved encounters with the daughters of other rich, aristocratic families. These young ladies made Touko look positively benign.

The story seemed a bit slow to me, but novel and manga readers say the anime left out a lot of detail. Perhaps I just have to get used to the Marimite style again. In any case, seeing it again made me even more certain that this is not so much sexy yuri as beautifully sentimental shoujo ai. Yumi and Sachiko's close relationship is so well portrayed.

La Corda D'Oro -- Character and Voice Actor Pics

Here's a page of character and voice actor pics for Kin-iro no Corda (La Corda D'Oro) ~Primo Passo~. This is an adaptation from a girls' dating game, but it is more than just a reverse harem anime -- although it is certainly that. The heroine is wonderful, the guys are individuals, the relationships are interesting, and the emotions are enjoyable. And there is good music as well, for those of us who like classical music. The setting in the music world is great.

Takagi Reiko does a fantastic job as the heroine, Hino. She had a minor role in Love Hina (Kaolla Su) and a somewhat bigger role in Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan (Sakura), but is not a big name at all. Among the guys, however, there are several big names, including Taniyama Kishou (who was Ken in Lamune), Morita Masakazu (Ichigo in Bleach), and Fukuyama Jun (Lelouch in Code Geass).
