Seiyuu Awards Nominees

A new awards presentation will take place on March 3 in Tokyo: the Seiyuu Awards. The competition has been organized by the Tokyo Anime Centre and various companies and organizations to select the seiyuu that "left the deepest impression" with their work during the year.

Here are the nominees (in Japanese alphabetical order, with the role they are nominated for) in six categories: lead male, lead female, supporting male, supporting female, new male, new female (less than five years in the field), singer (for releases issued under their own names), and media personality. Despite the fact that I haven't seen everything, I've put my own choices in bold.

The voting will be done both by industry people and by the public. The website says you can vote via the Tokyo Anime Center website, as well as by cell phone and paper ballot, but I haven't been able to discover how.

Is there a event similar to this one, or is this the first one?

I haven't heard most of them, but Tomokazu Sugita as male lead must win! And Aya Hirano at least as new performer (as well for Hare Hare Yukai)

nemo_n >> I don't know if there are other similar events, but this is the first year for this particular one.

os >> Voting has already opened, by cell phone in Japan, by paper ballot from November 10 Voice NewType and at the Tokyo Anime Center and elsewhere, and supposedly via the Tokyo Anime Center website, but I can't find any info on that site.

Seems like Hirano Aya's all over the place.

And two songs by her on the Song category.. Impressive.

male lead: Morita Masakazu - Ichigo (Bleach)He is a phenomenal actor!

male supporting character:
Ochiayu Ryoutarou - Kuchiki Byakuya (Bleach: Memories of Nobody)...I love to hate him. And he makes
Byakuya cool

female supporting character: I am torn between
Hirano Aya - Misa (Death Note)...Matsuoka Yuki - Inoue Orihime (Bleach)

new performer male:

I want to pick MM (Bleach) But...Miyano Mamoru - Light (Death Note) ...deserves this award. He is outstanding as light. His performance as Tomaki in Ouran High School Host Club, also deserves praise.
