Hirano Aya in LA

Aaya has just posted her first pic from LA, after a ten hour flight, with the event coming up right away -- in a half-hour from now.

Yup, that's between the Long Beach Convention Center and the aquarium. I've been there many times for the Grand Prix - although when I'm there, the streets have race cars on them....

I was going to ask, but I hoped someone would know. I guessed as much when I saw the later photo was taken in the same area. Hope this real-time posting is of some interest, as well as being a bit excessive.

The convention center is off to the left in the photo. The footbridge you see leads right up to it. She had her back to the aquarium when she took this picture.

I don't know where you live, but I'm guessing it's not LA, so I should mention - it's supposed to be freakin' hot this weekend. That won't be a problem at the convention, which is right on the water, but if Aya decides to go sightseeing in Hollywood or Beverly Hills or someplace like that, she's going to roast.

The temperature in Tokyo may not get as high as LA, but the humidity is far higher, so I expect she'll be able to tough it out. Actually, now that I look at it, 30 degrees Celsius isn't that high. The temp in Tokyo is expected to be that high Sat and Tue, but with humidity in the 70s instead of around 50%. The average high in Tokyo in July is 29C and in August 30C (84F and over 87F).
