Hakuouki -- Characters and Seiyuus

A samurai reverse harem anime? Yes, and a good one, so far. A real story, involving the Shinsengumi. Good animation and backgrounds. Some action. Characters with presence. A heroine played by Kuwashima Houko. Heroes played by Shinichirou Miki, Morikubo Showtarou, Toriumi Kousuke, Yoshino Hiroyuki, Ohkawa Tohru, and others.

About the only thing I find wrong with it is the difficulty of keeping all the names and faces straight.

So I've made a characters/seiyuus page with pics of all the main characters (the thirteen whose pics are on the official site) and their seiyuus, with a bit of info about each seiyuu. Click here or on the image to go to the full page.

Bless you for doing this! I had difficulty keeping up with names and faces too!

Thanks again for this. I'm much better with faces than names, so this really helped me figure out who some people were, especially when researching the historical background.

D: i'd probably really like this anime since i've became obsessed with Japanese history ever since i got familiar with Peace Maker ... but i think i'm going to drop tis title after 3rd episode. Aside from what you already said (it actually is kinda hard to keep names and faces straight) what pisses me to no end is the wimpy heroine. I know shes typical for this kind of anime... but please - she's trying to find her father, traveling by herself and in that time ... i'd expect a bit more skill and courage overall from here (not just the psychological beauty that'll make all the Shinsengumi guys fell in love with her since she'll save them from their inner suffering <_<) ... sigh i guess i really can't stand harem animes - regardless wich gender are their main watchers -.-;;

I'm really liking how much varied content this season is getting, especially in the wake of last season... and ESPECIALLY in the number of titles that appeal to female viewers.

Ani-sama Banzai!

Thanks for doing the character page! I especially love the character designs for Hijikata and Sannan-san. And it's an interesting seiyuu choice for Soji Okita. Okita is usually portrayed as being rather feminine and beautiful in other Shinsengumi stories - not quite as masculine as this portrayal, but it's good nonetheless.

thanks for the seiyuu list. but...

I'm with aime. I wanted to drop it at epi 2 because of the female lead. Sure she's kind and would most likely be the guys 'light', but could the creator at least give her a bit more personality??

She's just too boring. Haruhi from Ouran is so much better. Even if I wanna continue watching, it's just for the bishies. Chizuru can just gtfo.

@VieN -- I have a high tolerance for passive romantic heroines, and love Kuwashima Houko's work, but even I am finding Chizuru quite the nonentity. Here's hoping things are about to change.

Having the female lead would have probably gone over a bit better if she had some spunk like Tominaga Sei (disguised as Kamiya Seizaburo as she fights with the Shinsengumi) from Watanabe Taeko's manga series Kaze Hikaru.

I'm a little shocked you don't mention 遊佐 浩二 (Yusa Kouji's) most famous role(s) as a seiyuu (ブリーチ Bleach's Ichimaru Gin 市丸 ギン and 黒執事 (Kuroshitsuji's) Lau 劉 !!)
He has such a sexy voice, I don't know why he isn't cast in more roles (but probably because he is a free agent?)! He does do several CD's so I've been able do listen to his voice more frequently than just watching anime's he's in.. so nice (^_^)v
