Seiyuu Video: Kamiya Hiroshi's "Nyaan!"

At a live appearance, Kamiya Hiroshi meows like a cat -- to the great delight of a largely female audience.

In the clip, egged on by the audience and by the seiyuus appearing with him, he does both the male and female character in a sketch, and delights the crowd by going "nyaan" (i.e., meow) like a cat:

Moé!

Miyano Mamoru is on the far left, but I'm not certain who the other seiyuus are or when the appearance was. From nico.

Kamiya won the Seiyuu Award as top leading male of 2009 for his role of Araragi in Bakemonogatari, and is now playing both Rico in Arakawa - Under the Bridge and Izaya in Durarara.

That's probably the best female voice I've ever heard out of a male actor. I mean you can tell after a while but he's pretty convincing if it's just a few brief lines.

Also the audience was ear-piercing. o__o

Kamiya-san is amazing. But I do wish he'd do more roles with his Honey and Clover voice rather than his Zetsubou voice.

I think I can ID/guess the rest of the seiyuu in there. From left to right: Mamoru Miyano, Tetsuya Kakihara, Toshihiko Seki, I'll take a stab at it and say Hikaru Midorikawa in the glasses but it's hard to tell, next to last is maybe Tomoaki Maeno or Wataru Hatano, and the female is Romi Paku.

@anonymous1 -- I thought the audience was great: so present and alive.

@anonymous2 -- I agree: would love to hear that other approach again. The Zetsubou/Rico approach actually is feeling forced for me.

Thanks for the IDs.

He one of the few male seiyuu who does a convincing female voice. Actually the only person I heard are him and Akira Ishida. *listens back to men's only series drama cd*

He's also Otonashi (MC) in Angel Beats!.

Thanks for posting this - I found it hilarious and SO. VERY. CUTE! Now I'm really wondering what Kamiya sounds like as Juliet in that R&J drama cd...

Confirming the voices: it seems to be Hatano Wataru (it's an event for Hoshizora no Comic Garden, where they play the 6 main characters +1)

@Anonymous 3
I've heard Sakurai Takahiro try one too, and yeah, Kamiya is definitely the most convincing of the three. Though Ishida's old lady voice is pretty good, IIRC.

I spy Paku Romi!

Any idea what event this is?

@Anonymous 6 (lol) -- It looks to me as if it is probably this event on March 8, 2009, starring the cast of the Hoshizora no Comic Garden (星空のコミックガーデン) otome game. As Anonymous 4 said, these are basically the voices in that game (which features Miyano Mamoru, Seki Toshihiko, Midorikawa Hikaru, Kakihara Tetsuya, Kamiya Hiroshi, Paku Romi, Utada Hikaru).

For some reason i'm amused by his last comment way more than the 2 minutes before. Seriously the climax of the video must be in that last line about buying the DVD xD

What does the audience shout in the beginning?

@anonymous -- I'm not sure, but she might be saying jibun de, "yourself." Someone put that in a comment on Nico. Whether this means "play yourself," or "do it yourself," and what that might mean, I just don't know. Or it might be a reference to some famous line of his. In other words: sorry, I don't really know.
