Hirano Aya Becomes Spokesman for Denny's Restaurants in Japan

As she continues her voyage into the mainstream, Hirano Aya has today become spokesman for the "Hamburg Marché" menu at Denny's restaurants in Japan.

On this page, you can download smartphone apps (iPhone, Android, other) that allow you to hear her introduce the menu when you are in a restaurant.

Thanks to Pure for posting a link to Aya's TV ad for Denny's in a comment. Here's the YouTube video:

Hirano's push away from voice acting makes me wonder if she'll reprise her roles for Kimi ni Todoke 2nd season and Kizumonogatari. I don't exactly keep tabs on her, but did she act in anything this year except Disappearance and Kimi ni Todoke?

@lvlln

She was on the already finished Kuroshitsuji, Seikon no Qwaser, Queen's Blade OVAs, Nurarihyon no Mago.
And she's on the ongoing Jewelpet and Fairy Tail.

Qwaser will have a second season same as Nurarihyon, and the already mentioned KnT and Kizumono. More QB ovas aren't out of the question either, and there are rumors of KyoAni taking up Lucky Star again this year. Saint Seiya Canvas second season (or DVD batch) will start up this year.

And last but not least, after the success of Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu and the material available (novels), more Haruhi is highly likely.

So for Aya fans, I wouldn't be worried on not seeing her on any anime this year, the only worry is that if you see the pattern, she would be appearing only on sequels or established series where she already had a previous role, so I really hope she stars at least a couple of new shows in 2011.

She had said in one of her random twitters that she wasn't very happy with her new management for not getting her many seiyuu roles, so maybe 2011 will be a better year than 2010.

I was wondering about all those pics that came out earlier...

@Kamon -- Which pics?

@llvln -- I can't believe she is going to give up on seiyuu work entirely. Khrno sets my mind at rest by enumerating the shows she was in this year. I wish she were in more shows I like.

In the coming season she will be in Kimi ni Todoke and two OVAs: Lost Canvas and Queen's Blade. Not a lot, but at least she's there. Perhaps any general popularity she gets from her other activities may make her more interesting to directors as a cast member. I don't know what to think of her outburst about not having a manager who knew her seiyuu work.

If I ever go back to Japan, I'll definitely stop by a Denny's.
