Shukufuku no Campanella -- character/seiyuu pics and info

One of two interesting game adaptations this summer season is Shukufuku no Campanella.

It stays true to its origins as an ero-game, with incredibly moe girls each getting a bit of face- and body-time with the hero, and some quite erotic (but censored) nudity.

To go to a page showing pics of the seven main characters and their seiyuus -- with a bit of info about each seiyuu -- click here or on the image:

The plot, such as it is, is just there to throw the protagonist together with one or other of the girls. But the character design and candy-floss coloring, coupled with some very moe voices, make this about as good an analog of an ero-game as broadcast TV will allow.

The voices are key. They are not all top anime voices -- but they are ero-game voices. The same people do the anime as did the original game. In the page itself, I give the pseudonyms they used for the game. Details in notes on the page.

If you're wondering what the second good game adaptation is, that's Amagami SS, which adapts an all-ages dating game in a new way. It gives four episodes each to six girls, so that each route of the game gets a full story, and the protagonist develops a full relationship with each girl.

"Reading Girl" -- Sasaki Nozomi Voices iPhone App

Seiyuu Sasaki Nozomi is voicing a new iPhone app called "Reading Girl" (朗読少女 Roudoku Shoujo).

The app shows a CG drawing of a young girl sitting on a chair reading from various Japanese books. The first title is Rashomon, by Akitagawa Ryuunosuke. The text shows on-screen, and backgrounds change to match the story.

Here is a brief sample of what the app looks and sounds like in action:

Seiyuu Kobayashi Yuu's New Photo Book Out This Week

Seiyuu Kobayashi Yuu's new photo book came out on Thursday. It's called "two love x one love" (2♥1♥), and is published by gravure magazine Sabra.

This is Yuu-chan's second book of photos. A previous one called "Lovin' Yu" came out in 2008. Modelling is nothing new for her. She was a magazine model before she became a seiyuu.

The sexy photos are a bit of a surprise if you aren't used to them: a lot of disarranged clothing and shots beside a bed.

Yuu-chan, 28, can play both girls and boys. She is Setsuna in the Negima! series, and Hiroshi in Ookamikakushi. Some of her other well-known roles have been Ryouta in Kyou no Go no Ni, Dan in Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and Rio in So-Ra-No-Wo-To. I thought she was excellent as Meiren in Vampire Bund.

Takagaki Ayahi's First Single Debuts at #11 on the Charts

Seiyuu and Sphere-member Takagaki Ayahi's first solo single came out Wednesday.

The song, Kimi ga Iru Basho ("The Place Where You Are"), debuted at #11 on the daily Oricon music chart. It is the ED of the new anime Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin, in which Ayahi plays Ami.

The mini-album includes two other songs by Ayahi: Watashi dake no Sora ("A Sky Just for Me") and a cover (in English) of "You Raise Me Up," the song first recorded by Secret Garden, made famous by Josh Groban, and covered many times.

This lady can sing. What I hear is the vocal skill of a professional singer. She has a strong voice with range and dynamics, musicality, expression, and control.

Most seiyuu-singers can't even hit the notes dead on. But Ayahi majored in vocal music at college, graduating in spring 2009, and the training and education show, in addition to her natural ability.

Here are samples from Kimi ga Iru Basho and "You Raise Me Up":

Sekirei Pure Engagement Characters/Seiyuus Pics and Info

I never did finish the first season of Sekirei. Part of the reason I lost interest was that I never did get a grasp of who everyone was.

But the first three episodes of this second season have been entertaining enough that I want to know who everyone is and how they relate to each other.

So to start with, I've made a characters/seiyuus page showing pics of 26 characters and their seiyuus, with a bit of info about each character and seiyuu. It helps me. I hope it may help you.

Click here or on the image to go to the full page.

There is more detailed info about each character and about the overall plot on Wikipedia, especially on that site's Sekirei characters page.

Seiyuu and College Student Yuuki Aoi Buys the Game Fire Emblem -- During Exam Week

I wrote last month about Yuuki Aoi playing Smash Bros. Today she posts that she has bought Fire Emblem -- right when she should be studying for tests and handing in reports. The 19-year-old started university in April.

Aaaaa!  Reports!

It's report and test time...

Fire Emblem!
What an idiot!!! Why couldn't I restrain myself until tests are over?
It was my love for Smash Bros. that made me buy it, for Prince Marth,
But it has lots more cool characters that I have gotten into!
I'm practicing tactics every day on the train...But I'm so stupid that I keep losing (T^T)
I guess everyone is looking askance at Yuuki now ////
B..but they're cool!
You'd know if you played it (*^^*)
Everyone... I think it's great to master a new game during test time (*^皿^*)
※ Yuuki has no connection with Fire Emblem, she's just excited about it m(__)m
