Spring Anime Weekly Schedule and First Week Highlights

The new anime season gets going in earnest this Sunday, April Fool's Day. Here is a weekly calendar showing which shows will be on which days, through the season. Click here or on the image to go to the full schedule:

Sunday's highlight is the first episode of Uchuu Kyoudai, the year-long space fiction story about two brothers who made a promise when they were young to be astronauts together. The reverse harem Hiiro no Kakera starts Sunday, too, but we have already seen a preview of the first episode (I enjoyed it).

On Monday, the highly anticipated gore-fest Zetman starts. But so does the slice of life comedy Yurumates, whose OVA I enjoyed a lot.

Tuesday brings us a new soccer football anime, Ginga e Kickoff, as well as the new season of Queen's Blade.

On Wednesday, we see the shoujo comedy adventure Kuromajo-san ga Tooru, starring Paku Romi and Orikasa Fumiko. There is also the animation of popular manga Medaka Box, as well as the new Lupin 3 TV series.

On Thursday come the Sphere vehicle Natsuiro Kiseki, and the animation of the enjoyable zombie moe manga Sankarea. More names have just been added to the cast of Natsuiro Kiseki: Sawashiro Miyuki, Koyasu Takehito, Miki Shinichirou, and Nazuka Kaori. Also in the cast are Miyano Mamoru, Saitou Chiwa, Suzumura Kenichi, and Komatsu Mikako. As well as all four members of Sphere.

On Friday, we have just Accel World, the show featuring schoolgirls who are actually assault rifles.

And on Saturday will come the new Fate/Zero season, the weird but interesting ecchi romantic comedy Mysterious Girlfriend X, and another sports anime, Kuroko no Basuke.

These are just my highlights for the first week. A lot of shows don't get started until the second week, or even later.

For more details, check out my season preview. Also check out the three other anime calendars linked to at the bottom of mine. I have left out some young kids shows I will never watch, but include more info about the shows I might watch. Each calendar has its own advantages.
