Touyama Nao Concert DVD

Touyama Nao 東山奈央 is another 20-year-old seiyuu just coming into her own. In Nao-bou's case, that includes not just her seiyuu roles (for instance Yune in Ikoku Meiro no Croisee) and her recordings, but also her surprisingly forward radio appearances, and a live concert that will be released on DVD/BD  May 30.

The concert was called "Ribbon Revolution," and was held in Tokyo on February 12. Here is a 1.5-minute promo for the DVD:

Her ability to carry a tune is one of Nao-bou's secret weapons. Her child-like cuteness is another:

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia -- characters/seiyuus pics and info

Oonuma Shin's new show for Silver Link. The story of a pretty, and pretty forceful, ghost in an old school. Hara Yumi of The Idolm@ster helps create a fascinating character. And she is ably supported by Yonaga Tsubasa as the main male character, who is not a wuss; and by Fukuen Misato as an innocent, interfering enthusiast; as well as by Kitamura Eri as someone less innocent.

I have enjoyed the show so far. The big talking point on AnimeSuki has been the fact that the anime started with a later chapter of the manga, and only turned to chapter one in episode 2. Fans of the manga have been scratching their heads and voicing their displeasure.

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia OP Live -- Suzuki Konomi

The incredibly talented mid-teen singers just keep coming. Two years ago, it was ClariS. Last fall it was supercell's Koeda. This spring, it is Suzuki Konomi, the 15-year-old from Osaka who does the OP for Tasogare Otome x Amnesia.

Last year, she won Animax's National Anisong Grand Prix, beating out over ten thousand entrants by belting out songs from Macross Frontier like Diamond Crevasse and Northern Light. This spring, she is making her pro debut singing an anime OP. Here she is doing it live:

Pretty incredible for a live performance, eh? The comments on Nicovideo are dominated by words like "skillful," "cool," and "goose bumps."

Saki - Achiga-hen characters/seiyuus pics and info

Director Ono Manabu (Saki, A-Channel, Horizon) has assembled another interesting cast for the second Saki anime. As before, he is mixing some top names with many young and minor seiyuus.

But this time, most of the top names are young, too: Yuuki Aoi, Hanazawa Kana, Touyama Nao, Mako. Then we get into lesser-known young seiyuu, such as the wonderful Ishihara Kaori, her singing partner Ogura Yui, and lots of newer names.

I have made a page showing pics of the main characters and their seiyuus, with a bit of info about each seiyuu. Click here or on the image to go to the full page.

As with the previous Saki, I will have to keep up as the Achiga girls make their way through the tournaments, with new teams to face as they go along.
